IDANA PROVES DE JONGH'S SENTIMENTS CORRECT
Silver Strikers midfielder, Chimwemwe Idana, put the Bankers on course of winning the TNM Super League for the first time since 2013 after his 95th minute winner helped the team beat Kamuzu Barracks 2-1 at the Civo Stadium on Thursday.
The Bankers had Dedza Dynamos fighting for them away in Dedza where they beat leader's, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets 1-0 so they had the game settling for a draw after 90 minutes as Olson Kanjira had cancelled out a Patrick Macheso's opener.
In a brilliant counter attacks on the last kick of the match, Idana beat Herbert Wayekha plus the goalkeeper to slot in with a beauty to seal the much needed points for the Bankers.
The team's coach, Peter De Jongh, has been saying that if Idana was present the whole season, they could have won the League. The former Bullets star has put the Bankers level on points with Bullets following the winner.
