GOVERNMENT SATISFIED WITH HAIYA, ASK FAM TO SOURCE THEIR FUNDS
The Malawi government under the ministry of Youth and Sports says Football Association of Malawi President, Fleetwood Haiya, has started well in the first year of his leadership and has asked the Association to source some funds as government cannot manage everything they want due to their huge budget.
Minister responsible for the ministry, Uchizi Mkandawire, said this during an event where Haiya was celebrating his one year as the President since defeating Walter Nyamilandu Manda in 2023.
Mkandawire applauded Haiya on what he has already done in his first year and believes more are to come to as what he promised during his campaign period.
He has however said the government is eager to help the teams fulfill every tournament they take part but their budget is very huge so they need to partner with other companies to source extra funds.
"FAM's proposal has never been rejected but we sit down and see how we can manage
the budget as it is huge so I can advise them to source some funds on their own as the government cannot manage to provide for everything." He Said.
